Welcome to this DETAILED version of our bulletin (click for short version and PDF)

We are excited to bring you an ISPI Cracker Barrel!

Cracker Barrels are a long-standing ISPI tradition. A Cracker Barrel features several presenters running simultaneous table discussions. At our June 8th event, we'll have 6 presenters, and they will all repeat their sessions 3 times. That means you need to pick the 3 presenters you most want to hear! Plus, we'll wrap up with a special presentation from Alex Laks, our VP Technology.

As your host for the evening, I encourage you to carve time in your schedule to join us for some nibbles of cheese and nuggets of learning. You can be guaranteed an interactive, informative and fast-paced evening.

Creative Problem-Solving Tactic:
Reversing Assumptions

How can we improve our effectiveness at problem-solving? According to consultant and researcher, Arthur VanGundy, some of the biggest blocks to business creativity are the assumptions we hold about any given situation. Moreover, most of our assumptions are unconscious. Linda Naiman will teach you how to use assumptions as a catalyst for problem-solving and for generating breakthrough ideas.

Linda Naiman is co-author with Arthur VanGundy of "Orchestrating Collaboration at Work: Using Music, Improv, Storytelling, and Other Arts to Improve Teamwork". She works with corporate and public sector organizations, to develop their skill sets in applying creativity, innovation and visionary thinking to business strategy. Linda is a life-long artist, has been widely published and has been profiled on CBC Radio.

Topic: The Power of Questions

Did you know that asking the right question, of the right people, at the right time, is one of the most effective communication tools we have? Debra will present powerful examples of how asking the right questions uncovered information that energized a group, focused a discussion, encouraged risk taking, generated new ideas and initiated the development of a shared vision. Join Debra and expand your skills in making questions work.
