| Measuring
ROI at Business Objects - with Trina Pouttu Presenter
Trina Pouttu works for Business
Objects, the world Business Intelligence leader. Business Objects has a large
Vancouver division that was formerly Crystal Decisions, and Trina is currently
Program Manager for Instructional Effectiveness - Customer Support Learning &
Development. After being introduced to performance improvement and ISPI at Telus
fifteen years ago, Trina consulted with many organizations, including Telus, Verizon
and Charter Schools of Texas. A former VP Programs for ISPI Vancouver, she is
working toward her Masters degree in Distance Education. Trina is especially excited
to present on evaluation planning because, she says, "I'm one of those unusual
people who find the topic sexy." At
the 2004 ISPI Conference in Tampa, Trina learned from the Measuring ROI master,
Jack
Phillips, at a two-day workshop. Trina will summarize "Jack's systematic,
comprehensive measurement and evaluation process that leverages Kirkpatrick's
model to generate six types of data, including ROI and intangible measures."
She will also provide tools to help you get launched with your own initiatives.
Trina is currently applying the process at Business Objects, and she will share
how she's begun to capture level 4 and 5 data on a new leadership initiative. | |

| Appreciative
Inquiry for Leadership - with Joy Miller Presenter
Joy Miller, BS, CPC, is President of Seattle
ISPI and a performance consultant and leadership facilitator. Joy's education
has included United States Air Force Training Management, a degree in Education
and Development, and Academy of Coach Training CPC Program. Joy has worked extensively
in the aviation industry, and she currently helps government agencies and small
businesses to refocus on goals and reach targets. At
the 2004 ISPI Conference, Joy was impressed by an Appreciative Inquiry session
presented by Stephanie Wilson, CPT, MS, MBA, Co-President of New Mexico ISPI,
during the Chapter Leaders Workshop. Stephanie, who is a Senior Business Analyst
for Intel Corporation, applies Appreciative Inquiry at Intel. It is a facilitation
tool that celebrates the past, systematically discovers what makes an organization
most effective and productive, and heightens positive potential. In this brief
interactive session, Joy will use the Appreciative Inquiry method in one quick
but effective way to identify the skills of leaders who bring out our best performance.
