To
Our Valued Members, The
past year was eventful for ISPI Vancouver. Led by 2003 President David Cory, we
met our chapter goals of increased value for members and an improved website.
As we
begin 2004, we would like to take some time to tell you a bit about what you can
expect in the year ahead. Learning
HPT Together Few
of us list our occupation as "Performance Improvement Consultant" or
"Performance Technologist," but most of us see the value of systematic,
systemic, results-oriented Performance Improvement. To take that further for everyone,
especially newcomers, we've needed plain-language explanations of Human Performance
Technology, HPT. Since the start of the new year, we've made good progress on
meeting this need. Our website, www.ispi-van.org, now includes a solid Orientation
to Performance Improvement, and in February we are bringing you our first
special event of the year with Roger
Chevalier, PhD, CPT. As we expand our common ground through shared knowledge
of HPT, let's continue to welcome diversity, with members and guests from many
backgrounds. Learning
& Connecting Together Attendance
at our monthly events remains strong, often attracting over fifty for our dinner
meetings. Before and after presentations, there has been a good deal of interaction
among participants. We look forward to providing you with more great speakers
and events in 2004. A
Focus on Involvement In
2004, our focus will be on member involvement. Our Executive Team is committed
to promoting even more involvement through a variety of initiatives. In keeping
with this theme, we hope you will respond to our Membership Survey*. As the year
unfolds, watch for announcements of opportunities. We invite your input and involvement! With
greater member involvement in our chapter, our expanding common ground of shared
HPT knowledge, and more great learning events ahead, 2004 is shaping up to be
a valuable, enjoyable year for our ISPI community. As
your Co-Presidents, we look forward to working with you throughout the year. Warm
regards, Roberta
and Jim Co-Presidents,
ISPI Vancouver the Vancouver Chapter of the International Society for Performance
Improvement *
