for Speakers | |
Say
cheese! It's time for an ISPI Vancouver Cracker Barrel. The evening of December
7th we'll have half a dozen presenters running simultaneous table discussions.
The format will be both intereactive and informative. Participants will be able
to pick the three they most want to hear. We
are in the process of determining speakers and would like to extend an
invitation to all ISPI Vancouver members to submit a mini-proposal.
This
is an excellent opportunity for our members to share their experiences and expertise
with each other. If you have a topic you can share successfully in about 20 minutes,
we want to hear from you. If
you are interested in presenting, send an email to Michael Doody, VP Programs,
at mcdoody@shaw.ca
by 5pm on Monday, October 25th. In your email,
answer these four questions: - What's
your topic?
- What's
your W.I.I.F.M.? *
- How
can you do it successfully in about 20 minutes?
- Why
you?
Michael
will personally be getting back to those who respond. This
is an excellent opportunity for our members to share their experiences and expertise
with each other. So we hope to hear from lots of you. If we get more than we can
handle this time around, we can always do another similar event in the future.

Cheese!
Some
food for thought as you prepare your mini-proposal: The
format is flexible... You might do a 10 minute presentation followed by a 10 minute
Q&A.... Or you might plan a 15 minute activity followed by a 5 minute debriefing...
Or get creative... Please
give some thought to how you'd make your session both informative and interactive,
and share your vision in your email. |

9th Member Event | | On

Galbraith, CPT, and Developing Great Job Aids-Tips
and Techniques. Who's
Elena? Elena Galbraith, CPT, works as a performance improvement program manager
for Microsoft in the Enterprise
Sales Productivity organization. "One
of the most critical design decisions related to developing training is whether
to store training information in long-term memory or put it in the performer's
hands. The time it takes to develop job aids is three to fives times shorter than
developing instruction-to-recall-saving the organization time and money.",
