Post-Event Resources

Incident Commanders Andrea Shalinsky and Linda Waddell

ISPI Vancouver kicked off 2008 with a session on Emergency Preparedness: How Will Your Staff Perform in an Emergency. Using a case study, presenters Linda Waddell and Andrea Shalinsky challenged us to come up with ideas on what learning solutions we would recommend to a large multi-site organization, with several unions and significant budget constraints, in the face of upcoming legislative change. Then they shared the recommendations they made.

Click here to review the case study, the presentation, or a list of quick tips for your personal emergency preparedness. The case study document also contains a personal emergency 12 month calendar to help us prepare for am emergency, and a list of resources.

Content Convergence and Integration 2008

March 12 - 14, 2008

Sheraton Wall Centre, Vancouver
Content Convergence and Integration 2008

Managing corporate content, both on the web and in print, is perhaps one of the most urgent, and interesting challenges facing companies today. As the importance of establishing and enhancing meaningful customer interactions becomes more and more evident, this is a field of practice that can no longer be ignored. And this is the conference to learn more about the issues.

The speed of change in the CM landscape is dizzying; hyped web solutions come and go, trends pop up and disappear, DITA is old news – or maybe not … how do you make sense of it all? Where are the voices of sanity and calm reason? Good news: they’ll be at Content Convergence and Integration 2008, covering content management from all the angles.

CMS Wire says: ‘Gotta love conference season. Catch Content Convergence and Integration 2008 this March 12-14 in Vancouver, BC, Canada. The three-day event covers mobile, digital asset management, forward-looking XML, and plen’y of social media stuff.’

Attending this conference will not only bring you up to speed with the latest developments, it will show you how everything can – and does -  connect together to create extraordinary and meaningful exchanges with your customers and users.

Check out the conference site and register today! Full conference pass $699; save $100 if you book before January 22nd.

NOTE: Special extra 10% discount for ISPI members: contact Liessi @ 604-696-1993 x1 for the discount authentication code.

Attention student-members: There are some interesting opportunities to volunteer as a room monitor, for a half or a full day. If you are interested in this opportunity, which includes breakfast and lunch, and will allow you to follow all the morning presentations in your assigned room, and/or participate in the afternoon workshop, please contact Emma directly at 604-696-1993 x3, or cell: 604-317-2234

Don’t wait too long, though. Experience has taught is that there are always more volunteers than slots to fill. We will require proof of your (full-time) student status and confirmation that you are a student-member of ISPI.

The Performance Improvement Conference, April 3-8, 2008 The Performance Improvement Conference
New York Marriott Marquis Hotel
N
ew York City, New York

This year's theme, Enhancing Knowledge, Know-How, and Results, is about improving how we put our knowledge to work and increasing our ability to accomplish valued results.

At our 46th Annual Conference, April 5-8, 2008, in New York City, New York, the International Society for Performance Improvement (ISPI) will continue to shape the future of performance improvement through learning, sharing, working together, and networking. We will gather great minds and practices from the environments where human performance technology (HPT), with all its potential, has so much to offer, including business, government, military, health care, universities, and other organizations. You will want to hear what they say, to share your insights, to move our field forward, and to improve your performance.
