The following is a copy of the communication sent by BCAF to the BCAF mailing list in April 2005:

| In our last newsletter in December we advised you that the BC Association of Facilitators was undergoing a restructuring. We appreciate your patience. We can now report that due to circumstances beyond our control the executive has made the decision to close down the association. The members of the executive have been unable to sustain the energy to maintain the association due to competing work commitments. All is not lost however and there is some good news! We have been in conversation with the International Society of Performance Improvement (ISPI); Vancouver Chapter, who has graciously invited us to join forces with their Association. ISPI Vancouver has a membership of 135 and a strong executive committee. Some of you may already be familiar with ISPI Vancouver and have attended their monthly events. A few members of our executive have been active with ISPI Vancouver and can attest to the quality of their speakers and events. We feel the fit is right as does ISPI Vancouver. They are keen to increase their program offerings in facilitation and feel our BCAF participants will be a valuable asset to their organization. As a gesture of good will and to welcome our BCAF participants, ISPI Vancouver has generously offered to provide those of you who were paid members of the BCAF in January or September of 2004, a free coupon to any ISPI Vancouver event through to September 2005. If you are eligible, you will receive your coupon by separate email. For more information regarding ISPI Vancouver, we have attached their web site www.ispi-van.org. We encourage you to go to the web site and learn more about the organization and its past and future events. In closing, we would like to thank all of you for your years of support for the BC Association of Facilitators. We sincerely hope that we can continue our relationship through ISPI Vancouver and continue to grow our network. We look forward to staying in touch and keeping our passion of facilitation alive. If you have any questions please feel free to e-mail: Jan Mitchell or Wendy Lawson. |
